The Old Ship (Limehouse)

East End’s top hidden secret, The Old Ship, is situated in a quiet neighbourhood in Limehouse. It’s best known as a gay-friendly venue that welcomes everyone of all backgrounds and ways of life.

The Old Ship has a good selection of beers and wines, including one of the best pints of Guinness in London! We are not particularly easy to please when it comes to Guinness or cask ales but this pub knows how it’s done, so thumbs up to these guys!

The staff there are very friendly and the atmosphere is lit. Everyone visiting this pub are very sociable and will make you feel like at home, especially at the beer garden where you’ll be chain-smoking and telling your life stories to quirky locals.

There are big screen TVs for main sporting events, including the gay World Cup, a.k.a. Eurovision. The pool room is very cosy and will get you stuck in for a couple of hours, it’s free every Thursday so why not!

Every weekend, The Old Ship runs its Top Live Entertainment provided by London’s best drag queens and cabaret performers. Expect Sandra throwing shade like it’s sunny and the show-stopping performances by the one and only Mandy Gap. Every Wednesday, Saucy Sophie Fed Up hosts Quiz Nights therefore it’s hell of a good time!

The pub is under new management since 2013, with it being saved from closure. Thanks to 1200+ petitioners and loyal clientele, who are determined to keep this place running for at least another 150 years.
