The Yard

NEWS FLASH! The Yard is SAVED. Andy Jones, owner of one of our favourite iconic Soho watering holes successfully appealed against property developers to build a block of flats on top of the venue! With the backing of Westminster City Council, Historic England and the whole LGBT community, the future, for this true slice of LGBT social life, is secured.

There is no better place to drown your sorrows after a hellish day in the office, or a catch up  with old friends and a cold drink. With its vibrant atmosphere, tremendous beer garden and reasonable drinks prices, The Yard is soon to become one of your favourite gay hangouts in Central London.

Tucked away between a frozen yogurt store and a Thai massage parlour hides The Yard, one of soho’s top gay bars, holding the ranks for the last 2 decades. Split into 2 levels, The Yard offers 2 different kinds of atmospheres. The courtyard is probably one of the greatest beer gardens the west end has to offer with its incredible décor and layout. It can get quite loud and busy especially during the weekend.  Fear not as they turn up the heat during the winter months to keep you comfortable until the late hours of the evening.

Upstairs, the loft offers a more cosy and intimate setting with its comfy seating area and a smokers balcony that looks out onto the courtyard. This is the perfect area to bring that special someone and get to know each other that little bit better.  The bartenders are known for their good looks and how they occasionally loose their tops in the rush of it all. But they are also warm and friendly so don't be afraid to strike up a conversation.

The yard is open 7 days a week until 11:30am and 2am on weekends. You can also book a table free of charge for special events and parties. So what are you waiting for?
