Ready for our close up: Introducing the OutSavvy lgbt+ film guide

This Thursday October 4th marks the start of the 61st BFI London Film Festival (LFF). Queer cinema is, as ever, well represented. So, we decided now is the time to launch our LGBT+ film guide on our web platform and app.

Whether it is the LFF, monthly BFI Flare programming, LGBT London Film Festival, East End Film Festival, Fringe! Film Fest or other special screenings throughout the year, we will bring you the best in queer cinema, both new and old – as well as some of our favourite camp classic revivals.

For this LFF, we have selected three brand LGBT+ films from around the World.

A Fantastic Woman
(Una Mujer Fantastica)

A transwoman’s quest for a little respect gives us one of 2017’s standout performances in this invigorating Chilean drama from Sebastián Lelio (Gloria).

Reinventing Marvin

Finnegan Oldfield stars as a young gay man desperate to break away, in this stirring French drama from director Anne Fontaine (The Innocents).

Saturday Church

New York queer and trans teens of colour find love, music and happiness in Damon Cardasis’ heart-warming
lo-fi musical.

Check our link here so you can see what we have coming later in the year. Talking of classics, look out for Basic Instinct at the BFI Southbank in November.
