For our second night, we have the brilliant Bennet Kavanagh, the ingenious Ivan Kirby, and the stupendous Sally Firth alongside an array of up and coming open mic acts from newbies to not so newbie. This evening we have a special spot from the actor, Stacha Hicks. The smashing Steve Mclean will be our MC for the night.
A little bit about our headliners and MC for the night:
Bennet Kavanagh (who despite the name is not a girl) started writing and performing sketch comedy at university in Leeds, where he also began performing his surreal brand of stand-up and musical comedy. His comedy covers a wide range of topics including heist films, romantic songs, colour blindness, table tennis, and his experiences of working in a call centre.
Bennet has now performed with his homemade keytar at clubs across the country – including Up the Creek, the Leicester Square Theatre, Udderbelly Southbank and the London Comedy Store – and recently supported acts such as Phil Wang and Simon Evans. Bennet co-wrote and performed in a comedy musical Bendiana Jones and the Temple of Huge at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017.
Finalist: Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2017
Musical Comedy Awards Finalist 2018

Ivan Kirby is a new act, who started stand up comedy in 2016. Ivan combines his witty observations with stories of his upbringing, in a delightfully dry sarcastic way that will have you in stitches. Recently described in the Times as a “stand up comedian”, Ivan can boast being an international award winner, because he won a small plastic trophy that was “made in China”.
“Thank God you're actually quite funny and I don't just have to pretend” - friend of Ivan.
"Delightful, hilarious, and naughty. You'll love him!" - Pauline Eyre (MC, comic, promoter).
“Has the sassy attitude of a 21st century Diana Dors of comedy.” - Kyle Wallace (MC, comic, promoter, and wizard).
----
Steve McLean is a Londonised Scottish stand-up and former performance poet.
In 2013 he switched to comedy after discovering there was laughter in the things he said between his verses.
Since 2014 he's produced and performed in seven Edinburgh Fringe shows including comedy, cabaret and theatre productions. 2018 will see him deliver two more shows at the fringe - Action Figure Archive and At Last The 1990s.
His comedy TV appearances include - Soccer AM sketches (Sky One), Charlie Brookers Election Wipe (BBC) and Very British Problems (C5)
'Must See' The List
'Pick of the Free Fringe' The Daily Mirror (for Anarchy Cabaret).
