Moving and highly personal documentary about American director Howard Brookner made by his nephew.
Howard Brookner’s nephew documents his journey to track down his uncle’s archives, which dispersed since his death from AIDS in 1989. The film is a loving and intensely valuable evocation of its subject. Extensive archive footage and interviews with collaborators such as Tom DiCillo and Jim Jarmusch (who both worked on Burroughs: The Movie)reveal the backstory of Howard Brookner’s film projects, including Robert Wilson and the Civil Wars and his final film Bloodhounds of Broadway.
