ABOUT THE BANDS:
------
**Breakup Haircut**
Breakup Haircut formed for First Timers 2019, and have since been described as 'instantly charming', 'a mix of nihilism and slapstick guaranteed to put a smile on your face', and 'a pop punk version of the Scooby Doo gang'.
Defined by fierce basslines, humorously relatable lyrics, and a vehement determination not to recycle the same three punk drumbeats, they've been making pals, taking names, and solving mysteries left, right, and centre.
Breakup Haircut released their first EP, 'What Did You Expect? I Got It Off The Internet!' in September 2019, five months after formation, with Manchester-based label, Hell Hath No Fury, to praise from Echoes and Dust, Shout Louder, Popoptica, Punksite, Angry Grrrl Podcast, Get In Her Ears, and Joyzine, to name a few.
Though COVID19 put them on hold, they'll be playing the current editions of Wales Goes Pop, the Fika Winter (now summer) Sprinter, Decolonise Fest, and hopefully many more - as well as releasing their first album with Reckless Yes come summer. Breakup Haircut also continue to maintain their community grassroots links by working with Girls Rock London, Decolonise Fest, Women of the World, and First Timers, all movements to diversify the live music scene.
**Breakfast With Bears**
Breakfast With Bears (BWB) are an alternative-rock band based in London UK, fusing their love of 2000s emo, math-rock and all things punk. Through layers of driving electric guitars, groovy bass lines, powerful drums and melancholy vocals, BWB create a powerful and energetic alternative sound, aiming to make you dance whilst shedding a little tear.
Formed in 2019 by University friends Finlay Hudson and Alfie Watson, the band took shape when vocalist Zachery Binx & drummer Leme Oliver joined, before bassist Joe Taylor completed the lineup. Born on the eve of the first lockdown, this didn’t stop the band from working on ideas and writing their first EP Staycation Via Zoom released January 2021.
As a band, they believe in unity and equality for all. With vocalist and lyricist Zach telling stories of growing up as a member of the alphabet mafia (LGBTQ+), issues around mental health and fighting against the discrimination of all people. The band insists on ensuring a safe space for all at their shows.
Nearly two years since they formed, the band is quickly growing and making a name for themselves around London & The South-East. Expect to see then playing further afield very soon!
**The Ethical Debating Society**
"a riot of pop-punk: a cut and paste of politics, sarcasm, freedom, relationships" - Louder than War
