SOFT LAD plays her first ever headline show in London, bringing pure queer pop bangers after a series of support tours across the UK.
SOFT LAD - the recently-launched solo project of musician, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sophie Galpin (SELF ESTEEM, SOAK) - has announced her debut EP ‘MAXIMUM FEELS’ (April 22).
The SELF ESTEEM and SOAK collaborator launched her solo career back in November with her highly-acclaimed single ‘Singapore’. It came after no less than fourteen years in the industry, playing for the likes of Tom Grennan, The Breeders, James Vincent McMorrow and Jessie Ware. She supported SELF ESTEEM as SOFT LAD on her UK tour last winter before, later in the evening, jumping on guitars, keys, backing vox and drums for SELF ESTEEM.
Taking influence from Years & Years, MUNA, Shura and many more, her debut EP sees Galpin relay - in a characteristically conversational tone - her unbridled experiences of queer love. Packed with 90s-girl-band-esque hooks, new single ‘2 Know U Betta’ is about a girl that ghosted her.
