This is a Vulva is so excited to bring Period Parties to Bristol! We're still raising money for the ever brilliant Bloody Good Period but this time we're doing it in the West Country.

A Sunday afternoon of making vulvas, chatting about labia and generally just having a bloody brilliant time.  We'll be talking about all the things you never learnt in the sex education you got at school. 

Urm, why would I spend my Sunday afternoon making a vulva?

1. It's heaps of fun

2. It helps smash the shame around female genitalia. 

Our idea of a 'perfect vagina' comes from the highly unrealistic and un-representational world of porn and 'designer vaginas'. We grow up thinking that they are gross, they smell like fish and they should always be perfectly smooth and hair-free. And there should absolutely not be anything flapping about outside of your labia majora. 

Naah, mate.

Vulvas come in all shapes, sizes and colours. They smell like normal, human bodies smell. They have hair. Sometimes they don't have hair. They can be asymmetrical, multi-coloured and have lumps and bumps and ingrown hairs. They can be tucked away or hanging free. They get sweaty on hot days and they are itchy sometimes. We do not need to be ashamed, embarrassed or disgusted by vulvas. We need to accept them exactly as they are. 

Natural, wonderful and all different. 

So come along, make a vulva, help a good cause and maybe drink a Bloody Mary. No arts skills or creativity needed. 

All materials are provided (expect to go home a bit glittery) and all money raised goes straight to Bloody Good Period, the people giving menstrual products to those that need them. People like asylum seekers, refugees and homeless women.

Everybody is welcome - you don't need to have a vulva to attend.
