For some, it can be one of our earliest sexual experiences. For others, self touch is not within the vocabulary of intimacy. But masturbation is not just purely a physical action - it begins with history, both personal and collective. Masturbation can be described as the personal narrative of the body. It can be a source of healing, self-love and connection with the Self.
This workshop is an exploration into the histories of our bodies, a journey into what feels good, and what feels right. Through poetry and prose, that of others and that which we write ourselves, as well as simple movement exercises, we will explore what it means make a priority of self pleasure as practice - whatever that looks or feels like within the present boundaries of our emotional states.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring your own journal, pencil and pens (although we will provide some if need be), and plenty of water.
