Every second Monday of the month, 7-10pm
Join us on the second Monday of every month, 7-10pm, for our new Monday Multilingual Mingle, a relaxed evening for language lovers and curious conversationalists alike.
This is a space to unwind, connect and chat in any language you choose. English is welcome, of course, but we especially encourage the use of other languages, whether it’s one you miss speaking, one you’re learning or one you simply want to practice.
Please note: this isn’t a language lesson, just a friendly, informal space to meet new people, practice conversation and celebrate linguistic diversity.
Two multilingual booksellers (who speak English, French, Spanish and Mandarin) will be around to answer questions, suggest fun language games and point you towards the few but growing non-English books in our collection.
We always welcome donations, but during this event we especially encourage book donations in non-English languages.
You’re welcome to drop in at any time between 7 and 10pm and stay for as long (or as little) as you like.
As always, nobody turned away for lack of funds!
This event is eligible for TPL Patreon Pass
COMING NEXT - Monday 14th September Special Edition: the DEF of Translation!
This is the second in the Special Edition series, following the ABC of Translation in August. In this workshop, we will explore what is left unheard in translation.
You're welcomed to bring your own examples
The workshop holds space for many languages. All are welcome, whatever tongues you bring.
