BASURA (@basura.bb)
Uruguayan-born, North London–based and proudly DIY, Basura is a queer Latinx DJ and community organiser whose sets ignite dancefloors with unapologetic rhythm and political fire. Her sound blends deep-rooted Latin American beats — from cumbia villera and psicodélica to RKT, dembow, reggaetón and South American dub — all layered with heavy drums and global south vibes.
Self and community-taught since 2021, Basura is a regular at iconic queer nights like Popola and the radical South London rave series How to Catch a Pig. She’s also a co-runner of a protest sound system that powers fundraisers, DIY parties, and resistance on the streets.
For Basura, music is joy, survival and uprising:
"Sin perreo no hay revolución."
