Jonathan Rippon (JR) is an award winning queer comedian, international live vocalist, singer-songwriter and cabaret star. JR appeared on BGT in 2025 and his audition went on to amass over a million views, making him one of the most viral stars of the series, also performing with Alex Horne and The Horne Section as part of Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer.
JR has reached the final of the LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year and the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year as well as the semi final of So You Think You're Funny? He won Beat the Gong in Stockton, has reached the final of King Gong 3 times and he āBeat The Frogā at The Frog and Bucket in Manchester too. JR has gone on to perform pro sets at some of the top comedy clubs in the country and regularly performs for Manfords Comedy Clubs too.
In music, his comedy single āHouse With a Garageā reached Number 2 in the LGBTQ+ Chart of Europe (as of 2nd May 2026) and he has performed as a solo artist with Queen of the West End and Broadway, Kerry Ellis, as well as performing backing vocals with London Contemporary Voices choir for Sam Smith, Kim Wilde, Basement Jaxx and more.
