Homotopia Festival presents….
2022: Where Are All The Lesbians? The Trans Ally Edition
It’s back! Homotopia’s hugely popular, magical mystery tour exploring dyke history and the representation of queer women in popular culture, returns for one last special edition. Now with queer themed Bagels from The Bagelry!
Important note: The format of this event includes meeting at one point and travelling together to a “secret location” with audience members responsible for their own return. The location will be within walking distance of the city centre and close to bus routes.
Media sensationalism has pitched trans rights against women’s rights, suggesting lesbians are at odds with trans people. But that’s not our queer reality! At Homotopia we love the diversity of our rainbow family and all live and work together happily.
Let’s share our side of the story, as we spread solidarity, siblingship and queer joy at Where Are All The Lesbians? The Trans Ally Edition. Haters need not attend.
With a chat show featuring:
Lynne Harwood is a Director at First Take, Liverpool, a filmmaking organisation working within diverse communities and on artistic collaborations producing radical, authentic, untold stories. Lynne has written for TV and film and has directed 2 feature films and many shorts.
Mark Anthony is an award-winning Drag King and Boylesque performer with a passion for cabaret and a determination to defy expectations and binaries. In 2019, Mark won Mr Boylesque UK, making him the first trans performer to hold the title worldwide.
Marcella Rick is a Liverpudlian neurodiverse theatremaker who uses their writing as a means of navigating gender identity, non-traditional relationships, and queer expression. Marcy is currently part of Homotopia’s QueerCore artist development programme.
Co-chaired by Dr. Billie-Gina and Chair of Trustees Jess Shannon.
