The 3rd instalment of Ordinary Stories will take place on Wednesday the 14th of September at The Others on Manor Road, N16 5SA. There is a cash only bar at the venue. And this month's theme is HOME.
Ordinary Stories is community engagement event and an opportunity to ✨infuse✨ what’s out there with our own Ordinary Stories. Personal little anecdotes, told in a casual manner. Sort of like an open mic - but for stories.
Things that have happened to you, maybe lessons you've learned, things that happened to someone close to you, experiences that have changed you or helped you to grow or funny little memories that have stayed with you. Anything that harkens back to home 🏡
We'll also feature poetry, short stories and any other forms of performance or storytelling - as long as they're under 5 minutes.
The event’s theme is “HOME," so your stories could be about…
Building a safe space, the people who are your home, nesting, hibernating, moving, living in the city, or living on a farm…
The street where you had your first kiss. Feeling displaced or not knowing where home is. An evil landlord. Your kitchen playlist, the shelf you built, the family or community you'd like to build…
Perhaps a doll's house you had as a child, or the Barbie dreamhouse you made your barbies kiss in. Maybe what would be in your own dream home.
Whatever makes you think of home!
Your stories might be funny or sad, wholesome, romantic, or maybe even a little embarrassing, but all unique and extraordinary in their own way.
If you’d like to tell a story, please use this google form to register (or sign up on the night).
Ordinary Stories is open to all members of the LGBTQ+ community and we welcome allies as audience members.
