Hello to all of you who live, work or visit Barnet for any reason whatsoever.
We are excited to announce our 2022 meet-up sessions. This is the second of multiple events that will be hosted in 5 different locations around Barnet.
This second event is being held at Arts Depot on Friday the 7th of October. We have received funding to host 5 social events before the end of the year. These will be hosted by our founder George Nicholls, with music, soft drinks, and snacks and be an opportunity to meet other community members in a relaxed, safe and inviting space, have a dance, hang out and discuss any issues you are facing, as well as putting yourself forward for any of our upcoming volunteering opportunities in the run-up to Barnet Pride 2023.
This is a space to meet members of your local LGBTQ+ community. No matter your faith or belief system, or whether you are trans, lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, intersex, asexual, non-binary, genderfluid, queer or are still questioning your identity, you are welcome here and we would love to meet you.
These initial meet-ups are for those over the age of 18. As we establish the need in the area and become a more official organisation with a board of trustees we will produce youth-focused events as well. We are eager for community members to take an active role in the direction we go, with regard to how we support our community moving forward.
First on the agenda is organising BARNET PRIDE 2023 and then raising the funding for a dedicated community building. To achieve this it's essential to know who is currently residing in Barnet and which of you are willing and able to donate a little time and energy into building what we anticipate to be a large local network.
If you are unable to attend the event but would like to support our work you can buy RAINBOW LOTTERY tickets on our page and 50% of the ticket price will come directly to Inkluder CIC. Alternatively, if you would like to volunteer your time as a trustee or otherwise please get in contact hello@inkluder.org
The London Borough of Barnet is the largest and most populous district in London, yet for some reason, it has never had a thriving local Queer community. Inkluder CIC was set up in April 2021 to bring about a more connected Barnet LGBTQ+ community and respond to the lack of engagement from the council in relation to it's LGTBQ+ residents.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
Inkluder CIC was set up by Barnet's resident Drag artists Orange Gina and Ariel Bold who are keen to help Barnet become the most inclusive borough of London, by mirroring the incredible work that has already been achieved by other neighbouring boroughs.
