Burgh House & Les Bougies Baroques are proud to present ‘The GRAND FINALE: A Queer Georgian Drag Ball’
Join us at Lauderdale House for the grand finale of our first annual Queer Georgian Social Season as we take you back to a time when queers were more visible and accepted than you thought.
The evening – taking inspiration from Queen Charlotte's Ball (originally founded in 1780 by George III as a birthday celebration in honour of his wife, Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, after whom the ball is named) – will feature the legendary House of Dynasty (founded by UK Ballroom Pioneer D'relle Dynasty) as it takes to the runway to showcase its unique talent and the legacy of Ballroom culture, with the one & only Lasana Shabazz as Queen Charlotte, the fabulous Ballroom emcee Taboo co-hosting, and Les Bougies Baroques playing both period music & contemporary repertoire on period instruments throughout the evening.
All you are required to do is leave your preconceptions at the door and come as yourself – with or without bells on!
The Queer Georgian Social Season is conceived & curated by Ian Peter Bugeja & Mark Francis-Vasey.
