Location: The Queery, 46-47 George St, BN2 1RJ, Brighton, UK.
The Queery is a wheelchair-accessible sober space that’s home to a radical and queer bookstore, a small library, and a small vegan café. For more information, visit their website here. Please note: Whilst the space is fully accessible, parking on the road is pay & display (until 8pm) and there are limited spaces.
There will be chair seating and background music playing during the workshop.
Price: £30; each class, 25% of the spots are discounted by 50% for people with low income. Please only reserve one of these spots if you feel this applies to you. No proof required. If the spots are sold out and you would like to attend but are unable to afford a ticket, please contact me directly. There is an option to add a pay-it-forward donation to contribute towards the cost of these spots and to enable me to offer more low-income spots in the future.
About the class:
This is a class where we will be making dishes/coasters and candle-holders for Spring. There will be a selection of flowers & plants available to press into the clay, as well as some candles to take away with you. I'll be building the class around Spring, thinking about the theme of rebirth; you might like to think about what this means to you personally. As queer people, we may experience many rebirths throughout our lives.
We will use a combination of hand-building techniques & you will be guided through how to personalise your creations.
At the end of the class, you should have two clay creations to take away with you and tips on how to decorate them at home.
No experience necessary - suitable for all levels! This is a class prioritising queer joy, embodiment and creativity in a safe, sober space.
Boxes provided to take the clay home in,
