Clerkenwell an area of London that has so much history, right at our front door!
Join us, explore and find answers to questions such as:–
- Where are the Lakes & Waterfalls right in Central London? (*Stairs)
- Where did Oliver Cromwell get married? (*Stairs)
- Where did the Carthusian Monks settle?
- Where is one of the medieval plague burial grounds?
- Where did ‘Inspector Poirot live?
- Where was the global game we now know as ‘Football’ codified?
- Where did Queen Elizabeth I live, in preparation for her Coronation?

- Walk the Streets of Bartholomew Fair and the streets of Dickens Oliver Twist to see the sights in the novel.

Location: Piazza Café - Next to Barbican Underground Station exit, Aldersgate Street, London EC1A 4AJ (Metropolitan, Hammersmith & Circle Line)
Program : Meet inside Piazza Café ( 137 Aldersgate Street ), which is just next to Barbican Underground Station, at 11am for a quick tea and Coffee. We will proceed at 11.30am prompt.
Our expert guide, Rob, will leads us through from Barbican to Clerkenwell, giving talks on various historical sites along the way. His historical guided tour is free and will finish around 2pm. Then to end the afternoon, we will have lunch in a local pub.
