The Fourth Choir is London's LGBT + chamber choir for advanced singers, focusing on performing great choral works from early music to contemporary choral masterpieces. On 30 June, the Fourth Choir is performing at St Bartholomew the Great church, one of London's rarest gems. It was founded in 1123 and is London's oldest surviving church. It escaped the Great Fire of London of 1666 and was one of the few City churches to escape damage during the Second World War. The church has been featured in numerous films, including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love, Sherlock Holmes, and the Muppets.
The exquisite exposed-stone Norman interior will be lit with hundreds of candles, and the Fourth Choir will take you through a journey through time, crossing the paths of many great English composers including Byrd, Henry Purcell, Charles Villiers Stanford Benjamin Britten, Herbert Howells and John Tavener.
