Come join us at Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre on Saturday 17th June for our annual Scottish Trans Conference!
This year's conference will be an opportunity for our community and allies to come together to learn, share, and discuss how we can best uplift trans people and our voices. Our theme is “Care & Community” as we want to focus on how we look out for each other while making bold steps forward as a community.
This event will be open to all trans and non-binary people and our supportive friends, parents, partners, families and allies, who are 18 years old and over. Some sessions will only be open to trans and non-binary people. Service providers and professionals who work with trans people, or want to improve their services for trans people, are also welcome.
We will announce the sessions we will be holding closer to the time, but they will be a mix of informative, participatory, and creative sessions to discuss how the trans community can be best served and supported in Scotland right now.
If you or your group/organisation would like to host a session at the conference, then you can submit your ideas here and we will support you to put it on: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ScotTransConf23Workshops
We would particularly welcome workshops that focus on parts of our community that are less often heard, for example disabled trans people, trans people of colour, trans people of faith etc, and as we only have limited slots these will be prioritised. We will consider proposals of workshops facilitated by people who aren't trans, but we will prioritise applications from trans people.
Some conference sessions will be available for remote participation via Zoom, and we will indicate which sessions will be hybrid when we release the full schedule soon. If you would like to attend remotely, please select the “online” ticket option below.
If you would need a BSL interpreter to be properly included at our Conference, please let us know by Friday 3rd June by emailing florence@equality-network.org
More accessibility information about the event will be shared closer to the event, but all spaces we use within the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre have step-free access, and the venue has accessible toilet facilities.
