Queer circus club!
Exactly what it sounds like… A new start up of sessions to bring together like minded queer humans who want to learn a party trick or two while meeting new friends and trying something different. Open to anyone who identifies within the LGBTQI+ community and is 18+
Never done circus? Thats okay! This is aimed at beginners and centers around making new friends and having a bit of fun.
A typical session could look like :
- Start with an opening circle where we can share names, pronouns ect.
-A warm up/game to begin with (always open to suggestions)
-Group working on a specific bit of equipment together
-Demonstration of how to use all the other bits of equipment, and then some free time to learn something of your choice.
-Optional showing of newly learnt skills and warm down
This is an outdoor session that will take around 1.5 hours, weather dependant (you will be reimbursed if we are unable to go ahead with it) You should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in, altough this is not too physically demanding. There is a space for people with all abilities in circus.
We will meet at Park View Cafe (right outside Manor House station) 15 minutes before the start of the session, so we are able to make the most of the time.
