Sutton House and Breaker’s Yard is a National Trust property in Homerton, East London. originally built in 1535 for an aide to Thomas Cromwell, it has housed merchants, schools, a christian men’s institute, a radical trade union, and in the 1980’s it was home to squatters, who renamed it the blue house.
the blue house event imagines how the building might be used in some future time when the National Trust has collapsed.
artists will present new work in performance, installation, film, recitation, sound and free improvisation.
cake and refreshments will be available at the blue house, in partnership with rainbow grow, a local Hackney LGBTQ+ community garden.
