Primordia | prʌɪˈmɔːdɪə | noun
Organs, structures, or tissues in the earliest stage of development. (singular: primordium).
PRIMORDIA is a night of queer performance art, currently in development. Except bold and tender work from some of London's most exciting, queer performance makers. Expect the eclectic and prepare for the unexpected in a convivial gathering in the The Glory’s subterranean cave.
Our headline performance for this iteration is winegod by Oberon White.
We hope you will join us for a night of queer and lovely truths over a beverage or two.
Shared Saliva (Tallulah Haddon & Elijah W Harris)
Shared Saliva are a performance collective made up of performers and real life couple Tallulah and Elijah, femme daddy and trans sissy. They make work together, about each other, their relationship and navigating queerness. A love letter, a discovering, a working out, negotiating the experience of fucking and living as queer creatures. Are we on the same page? Can I fuck you? How? Where? Omg what the fuck is going on! Are you okay? Ow that hurts! Part contact improvisation dance performance, part shag, part confession, part spectacle. Expect matching outfits, tears, tantrums, trans face and tender loving care.
ASHER
Broken Narratives emerging from ethereality. Spoken and sung, sonic textures dip between planes. Fraktured, altering states blur our vision.
Robert Hesp
Robert Hesp is a live-artist and dancer from Leeds, England. As a performance maker Robert is interested in de-stabilising and dismantling archaic concepts of gender and the presented binaries that exist within contemporary society. His performance work is constructed from a continuous but shifting queer perspective, and frequently explores the use of abject materials alongside the human form. Robert is also very interested in the anthropocene and the role of the artist in making work at a time of shifting climate and looming environmental and social catastrophe.
Ellis D
Ellis D is an atmokinetic with fully functioning seromucous glands, but who can say for how long? They’ve been described as ‘otherworldly’ and are accused of possessing ‘astute artistic delivery’. Harnessing their ‘astute artistic delivery’ of magical fictionings they hold ‘otherworldly’ seance bubbles that are great for parties or individual contemplation.
Oberon White is a queer, Welsh performance artist and musician. A feral child of different arts practices their work can be situated in an eclectic tradition incorporating shamans, drag artists, clowns, as well as classical and experimental musicians. Their work evokes echoes from the worlds of ancient history, esoteric practices, nature and queer culture amongst a messy web of other sources.
The Roarer, The Liberator, The God Who Comes, just some of the epithets of one of humanity’s most potent archetypes, Dionysos. Join Oberon White on a contemporary ritual to the ancient world’s champion of marginality and suppressed queer deity. Dionysos is the ultimate liminal god, transcending borders between nations, genders, even life and death. Above all, winegod is an invitation to engage with ecstasy, epiphany and liberation.
