*Migrant Justice & Trans Liberation Festival*
After a bit of a break we’re back with a 2-day mini-festival, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th June, at south-east’s finest - Matchstick Pie House!
Migrants and trans communities are at the sharp end of elite manufactured ‘culture wars’ and hostile government legislation, and whilst the government is making it harder to resist we need to come together. We need to learn and share ways of standing in solidarity and standing against their attempts to divide us.
We have seen the ramping up of anti-migrant rhetoric and far-right policies becoming the norm, whilst trans people are consistently demonised by the media and unable to access gender-affirming healthcare. As wealth hoarders squeeze the rest of us even tighter, they try to divert attention away from capitalism’s obvious failures by seeking to divide us, to make us turn on each other - it’s a tale as old as time and we’re not falling for it anymore. The government won’t protect us, only we can support each other - come through in June to learn and share some ways in which we can act in solidarity and resistance!
Expect workshops, zines, poetry, live music, DJ’s and a movie night! We’ll be announcing the line up very soon, but for now grab a ticket at the link in the bio! All funds will go directly to grassroots groups fighting for migrant justice and trans liberation!
