Third night shenanigans

Come watch up three established acts headlining the night doing 10 minutes, alongside up to 12 open mic acts, with special guest MCs.

To add a little tszuj to the evening, the best 5 minute act, as voted by the audience, will be invited back for a 10 minute set.

For our third night, we have the brilliant Ben Bridgeman, the marvellous Mamoun Elagab, and the vibrant Vivienne Kay, alongside an array of up and coming open mic acts from newbies to not so newbie. The scintillating Shirley Devine will MC the night.

A little bit about our headliners and MC for the night:

Brought to you direct from the hood of Hertfordshire, Vivienne Kay is the ONLY comedian on the circuit to successfully mix material on Syria and maypole dancing.

Ben Bridgeman saw his friend performing at The Edinburgh fringe, and perhaps arrogantly thought “I could do that!”. Turns out he couldn’t do what that person was doing, given they’d been performing for 10 years, and just made it LOOK easy.

His first proper gig was in 2016, and in the two years since, he’s started getting work in clubs and with promoters around country, doing middle spots, opening and compering. This year he got to open for that friend (Bobby Mair) at The Stand in Glasgow, finding out in the process that while he still can’t do what that dark Canadian genius does, he’s certainly found a style of his own.

Mamoun Elagab is a young, deadpan comic relating honest tales from his childhood and adolescence; providing a light, yet in-depth insight into young black British communities.
