The first in our series of Big Queer Workshops, we are proud to present the:
BIG QUEER ACTING WORKSHOP
Wednesday 26th July 7-8.30pm
The Cockpit Theatre
Open to practiced actors and amateurs alike, this workshop (run by Big Queer Picnic founder and professional theatre director Abi Smith) will break down some basic acting techniques, along with playing drama games and working on some simple scenes. We'll be working on building confidence, holding presence onstage and reacting within a scene - as well as being playful and making friends with your fellow queers! No experience is necessary to take part, and on entry to the workshop you can choose whether you'd like to perform to the rest of the group, or you can choose to be a ‘quiet participant’ - so there's no pressure to perform in front of others.
Hosted at the Cockpit Theatre - the workshop space is fully wheelchair accessible. Free tickets are available for PAs and Access Support Assistants. Please let us know if you have any other access requirements and we will do what we can to meet them.
This workshop is open to queer people of all genders, but it centres wlw, trans and non-binary people.
Dress Code: dress in something you feel comfortable moving in.
Tickets are priced at £7 pp - we have a few low income tickets available for unemployed queers, let us know if you require one of these.
