In partnership with The Outside Project & Queerseum - Outsider Pride.
This workshop contributes to a larger work-in-progress project named ‘Queer flags’ developed by Fredrik Andersson and John Philip Sage. Queer flags aims to question and re-educate white mainstream gay culture by exploring both social and political privileges.
The aim of the workshop is to create a critical reflective environment where we can exchange ideas about certain issues and find a common ground as a community. And with pride fast approaching, we will transform these ideas and discussions into placards and flags that will carry these messages to pride.
The placards that are made in the workshop will be kept by us, and taken to a series of events leading up to the Pride parade here in London on the 7th of JULY, where they will be a part of The Outside Projects PRIDE float. Due to the politics of the Pride organisation we cannot invite you to join us in the actual parade. If you want to collect the placard after the event we will organise a collection afterwards.
