To celebrate the launch of her first collection of poetry, BURGER GIRL, Felix Orlo is hurtling down to The Folkestone Bookshop for a live reading as part of Creative Folkestone's Last Fridays on Tontine Street, and she brings with her two of her favourite funny poets, Bert Broadbent and Michael Kabasele. Swing on in for a raucous evening of spoken word and to grab your copy of BURGER GIRL 💥
Is it comedy? Is it poetry? Is it badly played keyboard? We're not entirely sure, but one thing is for certain - it's the doggerel's bollocks. Swing on in for some
BURGER GIRL is full of nonsense, lolz, and an underlying heartache. Felix serves up her insight into being a late-twenties-something full of grand plans that go nowhere, whilst much like David Byrne asking herself, ‘how did I get here?’ The collection explores themes of love, growing up, mental health, and other guff – all wrapped up in the grubby feeling of the city. Flit through worlds that involve a murderous teletubby, a dildo in the dishwasher, iceskating your lover’s portrait onto a glacier, and dying on the bog.
BURGER GIRL is a A5 riso publication, written by Felix Orlo, printed by Spun Press.
