Having conversations about your identity as a trans person isn’t always easy, whether it’s with a loved one, colleague, family member, or even a complete stranger.
We’ve created this workshop for anyone who identifies as trans or non-binary to help you feel more confident and prepared to talk to other people about who you are, while also looking out for your own wellbeing.
The workshop will be lead by a facilitator from Scottish Trans, and include practical tips and opportunities for discussion and learning with other trans people.
Areas covered include:
- Setting boundaries and deciding what you’re willing to share
- Talking about your own experiences and those of others
- Framing conversations
- Exploring anxieties
- Preparing for more formal speaking events (like media interviews)
This event is free of charge, and lunch will be provided.
The meeting room has step free access and accessible toilets.
We can provide a BSL interpreter for this event if required. If you need one, please book your ticket before Friday October 6th and let us know in the question about accessibility requirements.
Looking for something more media skills focused? Keep your eyes peeled for workshops we'll be running later in the year that are all about engaging with the media!
