Queer salsa beginners course November
💖We’re back with a Beginners Course (Yey!) 💖~~~4 week progressive course, with classes every Tuesday 8:00 - 9:00pm in November starting the 07.11.2023 in our new studio at Central YMCA in KXSpecific dates: Tuesday 07.11.23, Tuesday 14.11.23, Tuesday 21.11.23, Tuesday 28.11.23~~~The Beginners Course will cover the basics of cross body salsa including the basic step, side step and the right hand turn. This level is suitable for people who have never tried salsa, people coming from different styles, people wanting to try a different role and people that don't feel confident yet!
You don’t need to bring a dance partner as you will be dancing with the whole group. The focus of this progressive course will be to not only learn routines but learn proper technique. ~~~We are asking people to choose whether they want to try leading or following before the course starts to ensure we have even numbers in the classes.
Leading: The leading role means you will be learning how to signal to the follower the different moves of partner dancing.
Following: The following role means you will be learning how to respond to the leader when partner dancing. Once you have started the course as either a Follower or Leader try to give yourself the 4 weeks to see if it's for you. If it turns out you don't love it, you will be able to speak to our teachers about potentially trying out the other role in another course. Eventually as you get to more advanced levels you might find that you want to be able to dance in both roles - we fully support this and will help you to achieve mastering both roles as you progress. ~~~We offer limited low income places for those who need.
