Caring about our bodies and keeping fit can be a challenge. Feeling ill at ease with our bodies during adolescence can mean we shy away from exercise and the benefits it brings through into adulthood, whilst also feeling vulnerable as to how to protect ourselves and our loved ones when we hear news of rising hate crime.

This class is an introduction to learning self defence through martial arts. Learn the basics of defending yourself whilst also getting a workout and meeting new people in a safe, ego-free and inclusive space focused on making LGBT+ people feel welcome and supported.

The class is delivered by Sifu Jai, a qualified martial arts instructor who has over ten years of teaching experience and uses a variety of martial art forms including Jiujitsu, Kickboxing and Chinese martial arts which are put together comprehensively and taught as general self defence.

Sifu Jai specialised in traditional Jujitsu for over ten years and trained Judo with the Hong Kong Judo Team in the police service. She has also taken on kickboxing and Kung Fu in pursuit of being an all-rounded martial artist. She has since competed diversely in Judo, boxing, kickboxing, MMA (mixed martial art) and BJJ (Brazilian jujitsu).
