Hello! We are Mutate Collective, AKA the second year BA (hons) Experimental Arts and Performance students, currently studying at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. This term we have been exploring materials and materiality in our practices, working both independently and in collaboration with visiting artists.
Join us, as we step into a realm where disorder is celebrated, where the untamed and chaotic collide to birth new forms of expression. This show is a testament to the notion that within chaos lies untapped potential, waiting to be discovered, interpreted, and inhabited. Are you ready to embrace the mess?
The space will be open from 5pm - 8:30pm, with live performances between 6pm - 8pm. You're welcome to roam the space for the whole evening but if you're looking to catch something live, here is the running schedule:
6pm - 6:15pm: Black Monday Sold by Siia Tilinin
6:30pm - 6:45pm: Admiring Lambskin Seakale by Basil Else and Eli Baldacchino
7pm - 7:15pm: Tenderhanded by Cerulean Blue Luna and Nymph Lovelace
7:30pm - 7:45pm: We End Where We Begin by Eleanor Louise Brown
MUTATE INHABITS will take place in Chats Palace Arts Centre in Homerton, with the nearest wheelchair accessible tube station being Homerton Overground, a 5 minute journey away. Chats Palace is a mostly wheelchair accessible venue (aside from the stage where one installation will take place), with double doors and a disabled access bathroom and gender neutral toilets throughout the space. Please note that the evening will contain effects such as low lighting, sudden changes in lighting states, and areas of noise throughout the space.
Upon entering, guests will be provided with a zine brochure that includes; a map of the space, further notes on the artists’ pieces in the exhibition and, the accompanying relevant content information.
