Join us for a jolly holiday-themed collage, bookbinding, and gift-wrapping introductory workshop on Saturday 9th December from 2 -5 pm.
As the year comes to a close, this workshop is an opportunity to craft some hand-made gifts with/for loved ones as we reflect together and hold space for all that the year has been. There will be a kit for all who register and also feel free to bring any specialty materials you would like to use, whether that be some drawings, photographs, poems, doodles, or all the above.
The workshop will be facilitated by Rosie Olang’ (she/her), a bookmaker and curator based in Nairobi, Kenya.
About Rosie Olang'
Rosie Olang’ Odhiambo is a curator, bookmaker, and artist based in Nairobi, Kenya.
She is currently exploring workshops, zines, and artist’s books as formats to play across various disciplines engaging with decolonial, queer, feminist, and black radical traditions.
Her artistic and curatorial approach is hinged on a commitment to generative collaborative processes, centering local context and deep research, all thoughtfully deployed to develop exhibitions, publications, and programming that is accessible, sustainable, ambitious, and liberatory.
More recently alongside Downriverroad and friends, she co-curated Amplitudes of Dawn, a research and exhibition project whose framework taps into sonic memory and deep listening to consider in community, the 1982 coup announcement in Kenya and what followed in its wake.
