Our third night of comedy in Saltash following two sold out events. Our nights are not for profit and if there are monies after paying for the acts, venue hire, and promotion they will go to a local charity. For this third night we will be supporting the Lord Mayors charities for the year Saltash Foodbank, Saltash Community Kitchen and Debt Management ( Saltash CAP).
We are Dave and Carole and have been to thousands of comedy nights.
Dave holds the Guinness World Record for seeing the most shows in one season of the Edinburgh Fringe (304 in 27 days in 2014), so we know a bit about the world of comedy and want this night to be a bit different, a friendly, safe place for people who also share our passion. And we are also going to feature as many female comics as possible, as there are so many amazing acts out there and so many all male comedy bills.
Our venue Isambard House is a refurbished community space on the platform of Saltash Railway station.
We have a capacity of 80 spaces.
There is no bar. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks thus saving on the somewhat outlandish costs on nights out! But we are right next door to the Two Bridges pub who are happy to serve you in a plastic glass you can bring to the venue.
We are accessible with step free access so are suitable for wheelchair users.
There is lots of free parking near the venue.
For this third night we have local legend Suzy Bennett headlining.
Former Butlins Redcoat and proud Devonian Suzy Bennett ‘accidentally’ won the prestigious Funny Women Award on her 6th gig and has kept the laughs, and her Janner accent, going strong ever since, performing around the UK comedy scene, festivals as well as overseas hosting large events as well as tour support for big name acts.
Plymouth is where her heart is and Suzy has become a popular regular guest on BBC Radio Devon.
Most recently she was chosen as the voice of the ‘PlymouthTrails’ Tour app and was named as one of the ‘50 Coolest people from Plymouth’ by the Evening Herald ( It was in no particular order so she assumes she came third after Dawn French and Wayne Sleep).
In 2021 Suzy and fellow Plymouth Comedians launched ‘Plymouth Comedy Tours’ which has been selling out and receiving rave reviews on Trip Advisor which inspired them to create Christmas Special comedy tours which sold out like hot pasties!
Suzy is returning to host the charity ball ‘Dine With Davina’ with Davina McCall for a second time in 2023 after proving to be a big hit with the star and audience.
Suzy’s new sellout solo show ‘Forty Sem’ will be touring in 2024. (And already sold out the Barbican Theatre in November)

Supporting Suzy will be Kev Mud.
Rising star of the UK Comedy Scene, Kev Mud is “one to watch” (Chortle) and “one of the best new acts in the last 20 years” (Spiky Mike, Funhouse Comedy). He brings his experiences as a homeless ex-addict to a performance that has been described as “honest, charming and humorous” (British Comedy Guide), by delivering his stories and cleverly written pieces “with charm and wit” (Chortle).
In only a short amount of time, Kev Mud has been a finalist in British Comedian Of The Year, beating established acts by winning all of his heats on the way, performed his own scripts on TV alongside the likes of Josh Pugh, Mark Steel, Ian Stone, Elis James and Sooz Kempner, performed everywhere from Glastonbury Festival to The Comedy Store, and been the subject of numerous articles in the comedy press.
Kev’s “most original and exciting” (Spiky Mike, Funhouse Comedy) style along with his “original voice” (Andrew White, The Bill Murray), make him a sure fire “crowd pleaser” (British Comedy Guide).
Kev has only been going for a year, but he's already setting the scene alight. Not only has he made his way to the final round of multiple competitions, but he has already played on bills alongside the likes of Russell Howard, Ed Gamble, Kiri Pritchard-McClean, Mark Simmons, Bobby Mair, Larry Dean and Spencer Jones amongst others. As well as TV appearances alongside Josh Pugh, Ian Stone, Tom Deacon, Mark Simmons, Mark Steel, Ellis James, Sooz Kempner, amongst others .
Our host for the night will be Sandi Smith
Sandi is a West Country based comedian who has been performing since 2013. In her first six months, she reached the semi-final of the prestigious Funny Women awards and the heats of the BBC New Comedy Awards. She's currently performing around the country, with tales, tips and observations from her forty-something years on earth. Deceptively spacious, she must be seen to be appreciated.
"Sandi is a breath of fresh air to stand-up comedy, she’s very very funny and so good for someone so new to the circuit, see her now before you have to wait for returns to her future sell out shows!" Patrick Monahan
"Very good indeed. Great material and audiences love her." Nick Page
We will also be giving a short spot to a local up and coming comic.
