About the workshops
Second world champion and three-time South American champion, Ornela Cueva brings us a new way of dancing salsa fused with waacking.
Our first workshop with her last month was so special, she has us all shining like diamonds with her unique method for teaching the poses and the powerful history behind the movement - we had to have her back 🥰
Introduction to Waacking | SAT 24.02 | 14:00 - 15:30
This 1.5 hour workshop is designed to teach you the very basics of Waacking. Ornela will take you through the profound history behind Waacking and the meaning behind the style characterised by the powerful movement of the arms. If you have never tried Waacking before we recommend taking this workshop before trying one of the Beginners Waacking with Salsa workshops.
Beginners Waacking with Salsa | SAT 24.02 | 15:30 - 17:00 & SUN 25.02 | 15:00 - 16:30
This 1.5 hour workshop is designed to introduce you to Ornela's very special dance style of Waacking combined with salsa. All levels are welcome including complete beginners. We are running two of these workshops, one on Saturday and Sunday.

Who can attend
These workshops are designed for all levels including complete beginners. No dance experience is neccesary, while we recommend trying the Intro to Waacking before trying Beginners Waacking with Salsa it's not compulsory!
Anyone is welcome to join our salsa courses and drop in classes as long as you respect that this is a space for queer people to learn and enjoy salsa.

What to bring
Comfy shoes (socks will also be fine) and clothes to dance in, water and refreshments (if you think you will need a snack during the session)

About the Organisers
Queer Salsa brings together salsa lovers from the queer community to connect with one another through partner dance in a welcoming space. We collaborate with the Latinx community in London to run classes, socials and parties to celebrate Latinx culture and promote queer partner dance in club spaces.
