People Like Us is a collaborative photography project exploring trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming (GNC) identities and experience from AFAB (assigned female at birth) perspectives. We have been chatting and shooting for 6 years, we made a zine in 2020 (available at The Common Press), we've held a number of talks, done live shoots, put on a cabaret and installation at the Glory and now it's time for the photobook which will include texts and hundreds of images featuring over 50 participants with a rich variety of backgrounds & gender diversity.
We are crowdfunding to raise the funds required to design, print and bind the photo-book. Backing it will not only support the project, but will act as a pre-sales for the book along with other fantastic rewards you can pledge for.
During our launch event you will be able to find out more about the book, talk to Holly and some of the participants, view new images from the project and see the beginnings of a book dummy.
We will also have some new experiments in audio you can listen to - in the kiddies' snug area.
Guests will be able to make early bird pledges backing the book and securing their copy along with other rewards including a limited number of gender affirming photo-shoots with Holly and artworks from the project.
This event will take place in the bookshop on the ground floor and is fully accessible.
