Sitting with Platonic Intimacy
This month Ro (they/them) will be facilitating ‘Sitting with’ a workshop series that holds space for conversations around emotions, healing and connection and sitting with the depth and complexity that comes up.
This workshop will be Sitting with: Platonic Intimacy and will involve conversations around physical and emotional intimacy that is based in friendship and community rather than romance, as well as exploring different kinds of love and relationships, and alternatives in a society focused on romantic love.
Let me know if this is what you wanted. I feel like I don’t know enough of how to do it, so happy to redo/ adjust
Schedule:
- 1pm- arrive. Get name and pronoun badges.
Kim will need some volunteers to help with the feast. This looks like chopping and peeling veg. Making salads. Stirring and watching the pot. Tidying/ washing up.
When you arrive, let us know if you would like to help and what with!
If you don’t want to attend the workshop, that’s absolutely a ok! Plenty of other things to get involved in. We will need a couple of volunteers to keep an eye on the food whilst the workshop is on.
- 1:30- Explore the farm, say hello to some animals.
- 2pm- workshop begins. We will open with names, pronouns and intentions for the workshop/ why we are all there.
Kim and Ro will then share their thoughts/ experiences with platonic intimacy to get the ball rolling. (Think the workshop we went to, conversations we’ve had etc)
- 4pm- begin to wind down conversations, slowly coming to a natural conclusion. 4:15/4:30- 5/10 minute body scan meditation to ground ourselves after a deep, intentional workshop
- 5pm- bowls, plates and cutlery will need to be brought into the tent.
Pot will be carried into the big tent.
We feast!
Please wash your plates and bowls when you are finished with them 🥰
- 7pm- clearing away, washing up and ensuring the farm is left in a clean and tidy way.
FARM DAY
For the farm day think fun community vibes, enjoying nature, helping out or having a slow day. For the feast think lovely, cosy, nourishing vibes - coming together with our community to break bread, feel the love and make connections.
We will be providing plenty of food, using some farm food to make some lovely vegan GF dishes - but if you can, please bring your own dishes to add to the table. (especially desserts!)
Donations are very welcome but if you can't donate, we still want you at the event!
THE FEAST TAKES PLACE IN A TENT STRUCTURE SO IT CAN BE CHILLY - There are heaters but please dress warm for the evening temperatures <3
