Come and learn the foundation movements of Egyptian style bellydance in a fun & safe environment. We will learn some combos and put these together in a short choreography you can practise at home.
From shimmies to figures of eight, you will try a variety of hip, chest, and arm movements to some of the main rhythms in bellydance. We will work with some classical oriental songs as well as some of the latest hits from the streets of Cairo. You will also understand some basic translations of lyrics and how to use your facial expressions to interpret this. Lucy is a shimmy and hips queen and will share some secrets to getting your hips moving well. Lucy is bellydancer who spent 3 years training in Cairo, Egypt, with some of the best Egyptian teachers. She is passionate about sharing the core cultural concepts around bellydancing and how to tell the difference between styles of dance and music. Get ready to shimmy and laugh a lot along the way!
