Get your dancing shoes on for a fund-raising ceilidh in aid of the Whitstable May Day Jack-in-the-Green procession!
Whether you're a complete beginner or super experienced, this fun social dance night will be led by an expert dance caller to get you up and dancing to great live music. If you've never been to a ceilidh (barn dance) before, give it a go and you'll be hooked! The live caller tells you what to do – so no skill needed, and no partner required, though feel free to bring one).
With the renowned Roystercatchers ceilidh band!
The annual Jack-in-the-Green procession, a revival of an old May custom, is now in its 49th consecutive year, and colourful characters including hosts of morris dancers and musicians lead Jack in all his greenery through the town to the castle. This ceilidh is to raise funds to allow us to continue to put on this joyful event! We are a team of volunteers so your support is greatly appreciated.
