Aimed at early/mid-career cabaret & circus performers, actors & theatre-makers (as well as anyone with non-conventional pathways into dance) who are looking to unlock and expand their relationship to movement-as-storytelling, these movement workshops will explore the physical expression of internal sensations and build emotional layers through speed and states of tension. Some confidence in movement would help, but is not at all necessary as this will ideally come as a result of participation.

UNLOCKING & DEVISING
Through solo, paired and group tasks, these 4-hr sessions are designed to awaken participants to the richness of sensation within their bodies, using these as starting points to guide imagination, express emotional states and to gain confidence with improvisation. These sessions culminate with a collectively devised piece of physical theatre.
DROP-INS (focused research)
These sessions are open to people who have previously taken UNLOCKING & DEVISING and are looking to expand upon these tools from a more individualised perspective, in a more focused context. the goals here are more open-ended and individually determined, and can be developed upon in subsequent sessions.
