Your Local Film Club Presents:
Party Like 24 Hour Party People!
Ever watched a film and been so buzzed off your tits about the soundtrack that you've desperately wanted a venue to host a DJ set inspired by said soundtrack directly after watching the film so that you can boogie to your silly little hearts content? Well, look no further.
Dance those Sunday scaries away with an afternoon film screening followed by a DJ set inspired by the soundtrack @ Withy Public Hall!
This very first instalment (that's right, the opportunity to be apart of history itself!) will be a screening of the cult British comedy, ‘24 Hour Party People’ (2002). A Manchester staple which follows the decline of Punk and the birth of Madchester, with the likes of Happy Mondays, A Guy Called Gerald, 808 State, and many more. It charts the conception of the Hacienda and the great many controversies that went along with it. Meet the character rumoured to have inspired Warehouse Project and made Shaun Ryder hold his record at gunpoint.
This will be followed with a soundtrack inspired set by the exceptionally talented Charms. If you are not already aware of Charms you absolutely should be - resident at Reform Radio and regular at banging events such as The Beatriarchy, Rojak & the launch of Crop Radio (plus many more!!)
Starting at 4.30PM this doesn't have to be a late one - end your week on a high or start the week right, depending on your mindset.
