Step into the rhythm of nostalgia and celebration with this dance workshop as part of the Songbook project. Taking inspiration from our favourite songs, we’ll boogie down memory lane together!
The workshop will include check-ins, a warm-up and cool-down, creative tasks, and some fun choreography. Get ready to twirl, bounce and sway!
There is no prior experience required. This is a great opportunity for you to try something new, boost your confidence in dance and explore your creativity. Together, we want to create an appreciative, caring atmosphere for everyone to feel comfortable in.
About the facilitator:
This workshop is led by Elena Alava Hilgert (she/they), a SE London-based community dance artist. Elena’s interest lies in creating accessible dance spaces for different communities, specifically the LGBTQ+ community, young people and neighbourhoods.
Accessibility:
During the workshop, you will be encouraged to dance in a way that feels comfortable and safe in your body, whether that's standing, seated or a mixture.
We will be taking regular breaks, and you are always welcome to take additional breaks when needed or step out.
