KUPALA FESTIVAL x ЗБІРКА x ШЩЦ
Kupala Festival of participatory art is returning to the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve to celebrate midsummer on 23 June 2024.
🌸🧚🌿 Kupala is a pre-Christian celebration of nature’s peak flourish on the shortest night of the year observed in Northern and Eastern Europe.
This year’s festival is co-curated with ЗБІРКА and ШЩЦ focusing on participation in social-making workshops and music.
FUNDRAISER
Please keep in mind that 100% of the profit will be redirected to support SEEDS for Ukraine, an organization helping people of Ukraine affected by the war to grow more food in their private gardens.
VENUE
The Bethnal Green Nature Reserve is a site of ecological research and community learning in the heart of East London. Home of the Phytology medicine garden and mycelium farm. Care and respect for the many resident species living beings on the site are encouraged at all times during the event.
PROGRAMME
[The workshops will run between 3:30 and 7 PM, on a drop-in basis. There will be multiple rounds of workshops, the estimated duration of 1 round is 20 to 30 minutes]

3:30-6:30 PM LINOCUT PRINTING STATION | w zbirka fav hand printing tutor Veronika Prykhodko
who will offer you an opportunity to create your own Kupala-themed print.
4-7 PM FLOWER CROWN MAKING | w artist Eleonora Lushchyk
Workshop making a ritual floral crown.
4:30-6:30 PM HILTSE-KUPALA TREE DECORATION | w artist Marysya Rudska
Ruzhi/flower pin making with crepe paper.
5-6 PM SINGING CIRCLE | w singer and bandura player Eka — certified Body Voice Therapist
The session of voice practice and breathwork will be based on body psychotherapy, concluded with a Kupala song.
6-7:30 PM TEA | w gongfu cha enthusiast Serhii Povisenko
Low-key tea ceremony.
