This innovative and insightful INSCRIBE workshop will address climate change, land justice, nature, sustainability, indigenous resilience and ecocide from our global majority perspectives. The session will be led by two of our esteemed alumni, MAYA CHOWDHRY & SAI MURRAY, both excellent facilitators with a proven track record in creative activism and addressing climate justice issues.You will explore creative writing as a tool for action, solutions, and radical healing. As a participant you will become part of a collective, producing & collating short-run zines on varied themes from your creative output, and deciding how best to share and display your work through public action(s). Each participant will get copies of their zines.Come prepared to write, discuss, read, research, and contribute from your experience (either here or in our diasporas).No one turned away for lack of funds, do contact us to discuss if this would be a barrier to you participating.Single workshop £15 - Inscribe/Concession rates available.

Maya is a poet and interdisciplinary artist. Her poetry collections are The Seamstress and the Global Garment (Crocus) and Fossil (Inscribe/Peepal Tree Press). Her lyric essay ‘In a Relationship with Sugar’ is published in Gathering: Women of Colour on Nature. She is currently transforming plant waves into soundwaves – seeking to find a shared language between the human and the more-than-human.
Sai is a writer, poet, performance and graphic artist of Bajan/Afrikan/English heritage. He is a founding artistic director of Voices that Shake!; an organising member of PARCOE; and co-founder of the '13th': RJN 's Race & Climate Justice framework. Sai has designed, edited and published over 30 books, resources and toolkits. His poetry collection Ad-liberationis published by Peepal Tree Press.
