Word-Benders Poetry Workshop
Join poet Clara-Læïla Laudette for a Word-Benders poetry workshop on Wednesday 14th May, 7-8.30pm at The Common Press. There will be BSL interpretation.

The Common Press is wheelchair accessible, with no steps. There are currently no toilets on site, however we can use the toilets at Bun House Disco next door. There is one step into the Bun House Disco.
✨ We'll read and reflect together on work by trans & queer poets of colour.
✨ All welcome, our aim is to increase the number of people reading QTBPOC poets!
✨ There'll be time for writing and sharing your own work too. Bring something to write with and on.
✨ There will be BSL interpretation.

Facilitator bio: Clara-Læïla Laudette is a writer and journalist. She won Magma’s Judge’s Prize and was shortlisted for the Oxford Poetry Prize and the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award. Her poems have been longlisted for the National Poetry Competition and Mslexia’s Women’s Poetry Prize. Producer bio : Gayathiri Kamalakanthan is a Tamil poet and producer. They won the Disabled Poets Prize 2024 and their novel-in-verse, Bad Queer, is forthcoming with Faber. gayathiri.co.uk , @unembarrassable.
