Song o' the Sea - Sea Shanty workshop
Join us for a session exploring some classic sea shanties and following the tradition of rewriting the lyrics. This time we will be queering the lyrics to include in our forthcoming show The Good Pirate
No previous experience needed to join these friendly and laid-back workshops. We will be singing a couple of sea shanties and then thinking up lyrics that reflect the story being developed for the show. The show itself will be developed and performed by members of the LGBTQ+ community, and we are particularly keen to reach out to those over 50+ The Good Pirate will be performed on board The Cutty Sark in September and at Greenwich Theatre (in a panto remix version!) in December.
Please note that during the ongoing renovation of the Maritime Museum means that this workshop is only accessible by stairs.
When you arrive at the museum please meet by the information desk (parkside entrance) where you will be met by one of the Bijou Stories team.
Age restriction: 18+
