The presence of African and Caribbean communities in The Royal Borough of Greenwich and across the UK has a strong connection to colonial history. The movement and migration of people brings new ideas, perspectives and insights into how we make sense of the world and connect with one another. Black British history has made a substantial contribution in shaping the cultural landscape of modern Britain, through work by artists, writers, and filmmakers to name a few.
This special curated film programme, Where We Belong shares the work of creative practitioners from across the broad spectrum of moving image, animation and documentary. The selected work responds to the Black History 365 theme, reclaiming narrative.
