Unleash your inner artist with a unique twist at our Beer-Themed Cyanotype Printing Workshop!
Join us from Blueschein Printshed, at the vibrant Brockley Brewery Taproom on June 13th, 2025, from 4-6pm for an afternoon of artistic exploration inspired by one of humanity's oldest companions – beer!
Did you know that the history of beer stretches back millennia, intertwined with the very fabric of civilisation? Now, we'll blend this rich heritage with the captivating cyanotype process, a historic photographic technique invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel and famously used by Anna Atkins a photographer and botanist exploring the British algae.
Discover the magic of creating Prussian blue prints using the power of the sun, this time with a fun, beer-centric theme. Think hops, barley, beer labels, and anything else that sparks your beery imagination! This is a wonderfully different and hands-on activity that encourages you to see familiar objects in a new light and transform them into unique pieces of art.
This workshop offers a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill in a relaxed and social atmosphere at the heart of Brockley Brewery. You'll not only master the simple yet enchanting process of cyanotype printing but also connect with fellow art and beer lovers and creative souls.
Imagine the satisfaction of crafting your very own beer-inspired blue artwork to take home – a unique memento of a fun and inventive afternoon. This is your chance to experiment, create, and perhaps even enjoy a delicious brew while you work your magic. Come and discover the alchemical blend of beer culture and sunlight artistry!
