In a special workshop to celebrate World Menstrual Health Day 2025, Chloe from period poverty CIC, Flow Happy, will be encouraging you to unleash your creativity by demonstrating how to make dynamic, unique pieces of art using the acrylic marble effect painting technique. Here, we will embrace the importance of injecting more play into our lives for our mental health and wellbeing using this fun, free-flowing technique with recycled materials from period product packaging, while also talking about how we each experience and manage our own periods - particularly their effects on our mental health - in a cosy, safe space.
What you will get out of the workshop:
- (Definitely) a chance to share and listen to other menstruators’ experiences of
their periods, how it affects their mood and mental health, which may be similar
or different to you! - (Almost definitely) friends and contacts by connecting with likeminded
individuals as fabulous as yourself, darling! - (Hopefully) a new fun, therapeutic art technique that you can take home to use/
adapt to make more art for your living/working spaces, which you can do on
your own or with loved ones!
Is experience necessary?
No experience is required - just bring yourself, your loved ones and any stories or experiences you might like to share!
This workshop will also mark the first of brand new fun, creative and informative monthly meet-ups and workshops with Flow Happy to get more people talking about periods, while raising awareness of period poverty and dignity. Flow Happy exists to make periods more accessible and dignified (by providing free period products and promoting trusted and quality information about periods), and to remove the shame and stigma around talking about periods.
