The Show People Podcast With
Andrew Keates & Sir Stephen Fry.
Thursday 12th June 2025
Two Brewers, Clapham
After a four-year hiatus, the award-winning Show People Podcast makes its long-awaited return — reimagined as a monthly live show.
Hosted by award-winning theatre director and Queer Theatre’s Artistic Director Andrew Keates, The Show People Podcast features in-depth conversations with leading figures from across the performing arts. Together, they explore what shapes them as artists, and the lessons they’ve learned throughout their careers. Funny, fascinating, frank, and full of heart, these live episodes capture the wit, wisdom and behind-the-scenes stories that made the podcast a staple for theatre lovers around the world.
To launch this exciting new chapter, Queer Theatre is proud to welcome a very special guest: Sir Stephen Fry — beloved patron of Queer Theatre and one of the UK’s most revered cultural figures.
Renowned as an actor, writer, broadcaster and activist, Fry’s career spans over four decades across stage and screen. On television, he became a household name in Blackadder, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and Jeeves and Wooster. His theatre work includes Twelfth Night at Shakespeare’s Globe, Cell Mates at the Almeida, The Common Pursuit in the West End, and Mythos, his internationally acclaimed trilogy of one-man shows. As a writer, his revised book for the classic British musical Me and My Girl won Olivier Awards and transferred to Broadway, earning multiple Tony nominations.
Now, fresh from filming the latest series of The Traitors and releasing his new book Odyssey, Fry joins us for a rare and intimate conversation about creativity, queerness, and the enduring power of storytelling. Knighted in 2025 for services to mental health awareness, the environment and charity, his appearance marks a landmark moment in the podcast’s live debut.
The event takes place at the iconic Two Brewers, one of London’s most beloved Queer venues, and now the official home of The Show People Podcast, held on the second Thursday of every month.
All profits support Queer Theatre’s work telling LGBTQ+ stories and nurturing Queer talent.
